Times Square Evacuation: False Alarm Bomb Scare
After new York City's bomb scare last Saturday where a car bomb was discovered, Times Square was evacuated again today. A suspicious package was found several streets near 45th Street and Broadway and outside the Marriott Marquis Hotel.

The suspicious package is actually a small, white cooler found in Times Square just a few blocks from where the bomb-filled SUV was parked last Saturday night. After the bomb squad X-rayed the cooler they determined that it was safe, the authority re-opened the street to pedestrian and cars at 2:20 p.m.. The cooler contained several small plastic bottles of water and the whole deal a false alarm.

But New Yorkers are clearly on edge after the first Times Square bomb treat and was a real one. Mayor Michael Bloomberg said: "We have to take every precaution, as you know, because we remain a prime target for terrorist. That's something all New Yorkers understand and it's something that we need Washington to understand as well."
